Aston Villa have today announced the signing goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini from Italian side Hellas Verona on a four-year deal.
Di Matteo, pleased with his new addition said “We have managed to sign him despite the fact he was being chased by a number of top sides and that is a great sign”. The fee, believed to be just over £4 million which likely means that Gollini will be set to become Villa’s new first choice keeper. This could spell the end of current keeper Brad Guzan, which to many fans, will be no great loss.
Gollini has wasted no time in settling in and has already linked up with the squad in Austria and been involved in training.
Personally, I was excited by the signings we made this stage last season, so for the moment I will reserve judgement. Let’s just see more of the same 🙂
