We all know that since the good Doctor has come in, he has been more than engaging with fans. Maybe this is normal and as it should but considering under the Lerner regime, there was not an ounce of this, I think its fair to say that the appreciation and love for Dr. Tony Xia is shared by all.

Not one to shy away from social media, Dr. Xia has been keeping us all guessing on Twitter as to who Villa have lined up for their January transfers. Last week we saw the arrival of Forest captain Henri Lansbury. A much needed recruit for the midfield. Our poll strongly suggesting that the midfield being the area we needed to improve the most.

This week, the expected signing of an addition midfielder in Barnsley’s Conor Hourihane. This is a player who really has had everyone talking. The amount of assists and goals Hourihane has this season including this one from the weekend against Yorkshire rivals Leeds United has meant its been difficult for us to contain our excitement.

So, Monday came along and Dr Xia tweeted the following, indicating 2 transfers are on their way. Immediate speculation grew and unsurprising James Bree, a defender, an ideal replacement for Hutton and a team mate of Hourihane was the name being heavily linked

It also seems that Aston Villa’s official snapchap account also confirmed the signing prior to that of the expected Hourihane. Neither have yet to be confirmed officially by the club.

I suspect that the club want to make the announcement introducing both players at the same time. But wait there’s more, Dr. Xis’s latest tweet suggest a couple more signings to come.

I for one, would be extremely happy if we can bring in the 2 from Barnsley, anyone else would be a welcomed bonus and at the very least provide competition for places within the squad. In addition to all this excitement, sadly Ivory Coast are out of the African nations, meaning Kodjia will be back In no time at all… Oh and last but not least, Lescott has signed with Sunderland. Now based on Dr. Xia’s percentage logic I would say that is 99% relegation for poor Sunderland.

All in all, a very promising few days for Villa and I am sure we will all be watching very closely on what happens next.
